Internal: Royals Stadium Update

Dear Dream Team,

I recognize I haven’t been very communicative since the Royals location was announced, and I would like to apologize for that. Unfortunately I still don’t have a lot of answers, but here’s what we do know so far:

  1. The stadium location as proposed, without the necessary assistance in place, puts Dance Fit Flow in a precarious situation both during the construction period and permanent use.

  2. Since the announcement, I have been raising our concerns with the City, the County, the Royals, the Crossroads Community Association, our landlord, etc. I’ve written emails, letters, made phone calls, attended meetings, and written more emails.

  3. Nearly 200 people sent letters of support to the City and the campaign on our behalf!

  4. I have reason to believe our voice is being heard and our needs are becoming more understood.

  5. The Royals have been in touch about scheduling a meeting.

  6. In this meeting and in all my other communications, my focus is getting an answer to the question of “If the measure passes, what support will be made available, and how?”

You are not obligated to make any statements about the vote in your capacity as an Instructor or team member, and in fact it’s probably best if we don’t. (Apart from the studio, you do you.) The most important thing we can do right now is to keep giving a Best-in-Class experience to everyone who comes through our front door.

I’ve lost plenty of sleep over the past month, but not hope. Our community got through COVID and we’ll get through this.

Thank you for everything you do and are doing! I wish I had more answers to share. My door is always open if you would like to talk further. 816-803-7410

My best,

Kerri
